Grant County Busted Mugshots is a private reference resource, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, arrange release or bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the responsible public custodian directly for those matters.
County Sheriff and Jail
The Grant County Sheriff's Office is the primary local agency contact. Its current site describes the office as open 24 hours and directs public-record requests to the county's official channel. The web transition means an older jail page should not be treated as a current roster.

For a booking record, booking photograph, arrest log, correction, or retention-series question, submit a narrowly described request through Grant County NextRequest. The county has not published a booking-photo fee or fixed completion period in the material reviewed, so ask for a fee estimate and the reason for any withholding.
Which Official Office Helps
Different records live with different systems. Use the record type and custody status to choose the contact, and retain the request or case number when one is available.
- For a county booking record or a records request, begin with the sheriff and NextRequest.
- For a Grant County case summary or later disposition, use Wisconsin Circuit Court Access or the Clerk of Courts at (608) 723-2752.
- For county-jail custody notifications, check VINELink Wisconsin; it is not a photo service.
- For state-prison custody, use the Wisconsin DOC locator, which does not replace a county booking record.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the official BOP locator or ICE detainee locator when the custody facts fit.
City Police Record Routes
A city police report is not automatically a Grant County Jail record. Platteville accepts police records requests in person, online, or by telephone; Lancaster directs open-records requests to its police chief; and Boscobel provides an Open Records Request form. If an arrest entered county custody, make a separate county request when appropriate.
